SASA FOUNDATION
The SASA Woman Foundation was established in 2013 as an NGO in Tanzania. Our main office is located at Moshono, in the suburb of Arusha City.
The charity was born our of our frustration in observing the lack of change and action being taken to support the most socio-economically disadvantaged members of our community.
We knew the best way to make sustainable change was to support women empowerment. Over time we grew into an experienced and trusted foundation with a clear mandate and programs that make measurable impact on the lives of women and children.

Mission
The SASA Foundation seeks to strengthen the capacity and ability of women of different socio-economic disadvantaged groups to engage in productive ventures to enable them to shape their livelihoods and transform the society in which they live, into gender-responsive structures, norms and systems equitably and inclusively.
Vision
The SASA Foundation sees a better future for poor families, with special attention on children, women, and persons with disabilities, as they attain quality education and productive capacity to achieve well-being and a sustaining standard of socio-economic status.
Daycare Centers
Care work burdens disproportionately fall on women. This program provides women the time to engage in education and economic pursuits.
Vocational and Skills Training
Women often lack certain skills and knowledge in academic and economic pursuits. We help them learn and grow as confident and empowered entrepreneurs.

Groups
We facilitate several banking systems that are entirely funded and operated by women to start, run and grow their businesses.
Health days
Due to a lack of access to quality healthcare, we run open Health Days where the community can receive medical care from trusted professionals.
Life Skills Girls & Boys
We provide gender equality workshops for challenging stereotypes and breaking down barriers to empower girls and encourage boys to be strong allies.
Outreach
We assist rural communities through capacity-building workshops, workplace’ analysis of gender dynamics as well as legal support for women and children.

We have reached more than 14,000 women through our capacity building workshops and classes.
